Honey...eerrrr I flushed the Flash!

I have been using the Pocketwizard Flex TT5 and Mini TT1 for a while now but for ETTL only. When PocketWizard came out with the tutorial on how to use the Flex and Mini manually I was so happy as I wanted to shoot as well with full control of the light and this tutorial helped me.


Here is a sample of my self portrait using two 580 EX II.

For the set up I used 1580 EX II to light the back of the toilet bowl with full CTB gel and one 1/2 CTB gell at half power and inside the bowl I used 580 EX II bare at 1/16. I prefocused using the toilet brush and put the lens on manual and mounted my camera 5D MK II on a tripod.

Arnis with Ricky Aranza 4th Dan Black Belt Combat Arnis Hong Kong

I have been contemplating to do a photography in martial arts but didn't know anyone who's into the sports. I was talking to a friend about this and it was mentioned to me that I had a Filipino neighbor who is a 4th dan black belter in Combat Arnis a Filipino Style of Martial Arts. As soon as I was given the number I called him up to schedule for a shoot that afternoon and he gladly accepted it. His name is Ricky Aranza.

In this series of photos I have used 3 580 EX II, SpeedLight Pro Kit Diffuser, 3 Pocketwizard Flex TT5, 1 Mini TT1, Canon 5d Mark II and an intelligent tripod that determines where the main light should be brand name Mikey.
